Casa do Colecionador: security rescue, infrastructure migration and a new international platform
We removed malware that was stealing card data, migrated the entire infrastructure from HostGator to a VPS with cost reduction, and are now building the client's new international platform.

The challenge
Casa do Colecionador sells rare and classic films online. The site, an OpenCart store hosted on HostGator, had accumulated serious problems: Magecart-type malware stealing customers’ card data (detected by external monitoring), high infrastructure costs, e-mails landing in spam and broken payment modules.
The solution
- Security first: we identified and removed the malicious script that was exfiltrating card data, and hardened the store against reinfection.
- Infrastructure migration: we moved the entire site from HostGator to an optimized VPS (Ubuntu + Nginx), fixing critical OpenCart bugs along the way that not even the original support could solve — without stopping sales at any point.
- Corporate e-mail: we built dedicated e-mail infrastructure with DKIM and SPF; the store’s e-mails stopped landing in spam.
- Payments restored: instant payments and checkout came back after diagnosing incompatibilities on the old server.
The next chapter
The project evolved into building acasadocolecionador.com — the new international platform: a catalog of 10,483 films (209k records) migrated without loss from the legacy system, payments in two currencies (BRL and EUR) with card and PIX, automatic region detection and affiliate monetization in 6 countries. The database runs on CustomerBase, our managed database product.
